Subject: Great Success at last to GetClub.
At last GetClub got great success in controlling the time. Beginner
Level is too fast for a quick game.

And also now the Strength of the Game has been improved. Each level
will play stronger than before.

Strong players were asking for more strength in the game as they win
easily so it was descided to increase level of smaller levels to that
of higher level to satisfy strong players need. Weak player can play
with Beginner & Easy Level only and they will be beaten by them easily.
Strong players may test Normal & Master Level. I am sure they will give
good challenge to even strong players. But they will think a lot.

Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

Beginner will play as it used to in 10-20 seconds. (For average
players, Me and my Friends)

Easy will play like Normal Level 1-2 min/ move (for strong players like
Nomorechess, Bonsai, Richard etc)

Normal will play like Advance Level 5-10 min/move. (For tournament
Players like Taylor Kingston, Bob, Chrisf, Zebediah etc)

Master Level will play much deeper and think a lot 1/2 hr / move Only
for the Deranged and those who have lot of time.

A bug was found which may be causing long time. As in end game king is
checked again and again it keeps thinking deeper and deeper and taking
lot of time.

Our Programmers have removed that bug May be now you will not have to
wait for a Mountain Time for a move.

I need to change my bet. Now I am betting $10 million that it
*won't*
move in under an hour, and now I need 100-1 odds, okay? Thanks.

PS: Mr. Sloan, whenever you get a situation where Sanny's
program looks like it will never move, just close your browser
and open a new one, then log back on. Most of the time this
works, and you will see a fairly quick response, whereas if
you had continued sitting there, it never would have moved.
This feature was copied from Smith & Wesson, and is called
a "quick reload". The feature you are concerned about is
called the "never move" mode, and it was developed as a
counter to all those human opponents who keep making
strong moves. Soon, they will learn the error of their ways,
and become "conditioned" to toss in a few blunders, or else
pay the (never-move) price. It's the latest advance in AI
programming!

Can you provide sequence of moves made so that my programmers
understand why it is happening.

In End games it happens sometime that on King move it keeps on thinking
longer. If sequence of Moves Opening to end game is availavle the
problem can be removed forever.

Can't you read? the position was given in the original posting, and you
QUOTED it!

Now you want me to write down the moves for you? Has it not occured to
you that your program *should* know the moves?

If you want me to do your work for you, you'll have to pay my daily rate.
HINT: you can't afford me.

No. The way you fix it is to have the program pay attention to the time
control and make the best move it has found when time runs out.

I'll wager $10 million that it moves in under an hour.

But I need 50-1 odds, so my winnings will actually amount to
something.

No. The only IM here is a *pretend* nearly-an-IM, Phil Innes.

I don't have a FIDE rating, as far as I know. I could have
traveled to some distant place to get one, but it would have
cost me a hefty entry fee, with little or no chance of winning
any prize, as those tourneys have the entry money funneled
up to the top, to the GMs. For reasons I can't comprehend,
despite being a genuine chess genius of the first order, I seem
to have difficulties against those guys. It must be because
they spend every waking hour memorizing ECO and studying
Informants, while I of course, rely solely upon my inborn talent.

Giving the benefit of the doubt to the people working on this project, I
went and played a game. With the computer taking 10 seconds per move, I
won easily. I am only an OK chess player. There is no way I am going to
spend my time playing against a computer that takes more time than this
just to make decent moves.

"Normal" play takes 5-10 minutes per move? With the availability of high
quality free chess computer programs out there, I can't believe anyone
would waste their time at this site.

Lastly, the interface was terrible.

No, it was garbage. I did not like it. My recommendation to anyone
considering going there, save your time, find another outlet for chess.

OK - I'm playing a game right now. Beginner Level (10-20 seconds per
move). Many, many, many of the moves have taken longer than 100
seconds. A very clever twist is the way the program stops its clock,
announces (I moved my Rook. My healthy rook.) - BUT DOES NOT DISPLAY A
NEW BOARD POSITION for another minute or two, or three.

And now...the position is:

White: Kg7, Rf8, Ne7, Pd6, Pg6, Ph7
Black: Kb5, Rh5

"Thinking on King (10). Time: 1808 Seconds."

That's a half hour! At "10-20 seconds/move"!

Anyone care to place a bet on when (or if) the program will ever move?

It's speed is up but strength is ok.

That's why GetClub game strength is increasing every 1 \ 2 months.

A rough estimate only. Now there are so many players I do not remember
name of each player.

Redundant; you already mentioned nomorechess under the Easy

much time he has is not entirely clear.
