Subject: Something for the comps to analyse

Seems to me, with crafty and all the other chess engines out there.
They all use an opening book, no problem. Now the fun is the end-
game. At present I have 95% of the 5 piece tablebases
downloaded/calculated in nalimov format that crafty and chessbase
progs like.
Now this is the question, as time goes by, the tablebases gain
another piece. Eventually they are going to make it to 32, so will
the current ideas in the opening theory be any good, or will we
have to rewrite the books all over?

Chess will likely be solved long before the 32 piece tablebases are
generated. I believe the storage required for the 6 piece tablesbases is
over 100GB. The 7 piece tablebases are said to take over 4TB. In the
meantime, chess theory will be progressing, both through human and computer
analysis. Eventually, theory will meet the tablebases.
