Hi. I have just made my first bookup by importing a ChessBase generated PGN file containing lots of games of an opening of interest. Of course the Bookup book files are quite big. I started to delete unimportant continuations and have already cut off quite a lot of them. Surprisingly the Bookup book files do not seem to be smaller in size. I guess I should rebuild the book somehow or export to text and then import in order to rebiuld the binary database files, but I do not know how. Can you please give me a hand with this. Thanks a lot in advance. Happy Easter by the way :) Ricardo

You can trim the amount of moves when you first import the pgn file, to the first 10 of 20 moves... For more on that, check the Bookup Help file for purge/prune. Mike Leahy "The Database Man!" www.bookup.com

Sorry to have troubled you during your summer vacations :) Just as you suggested the guys of the Bookup Support Forum were more than quick and redy to give me a hand. They did vastly clarify the issue for me. I have tried different ways of solving the problem and have no reason to grumble now actually. However I have come to a big decision to build my ebook from scratch. Hope it will be a nice long-term investment of my time and energy. Thank you once again. Kindest regards, Ric
