How can you enter null moves in CA 8.1 notation? In other words, how
can white or black enter successive moves? I want to be able to show
what white or black is planning to do.

<shift ><ctrl>z

You need to be at the end of a line/variation for this to work, but then of
course you can add more moves to the line

Another trick in the same track is to add variation to the end of a game,
here you hold down the <ctrl > key and do the move with the mouse.
