He is WAY beyond that. Get him a good piece of software, either Chessmaster or one of the Chessbase programs, do a little research and maybe let him decide which one he wants. I would suspect that Chess Vision has more important things than you describe above. If it doesn't, I would be very surprised. But, once again, if your son is now an A Class player, it's time to get very serious if he wants to improve his game. jm

He did master many of the skills - call out a square and he can name the color, call out any two squares and he can tell if different, call out any square with a piece and he can tell you what squares that piece attacks. Not sure if it helped his game though - he has been stuck at 1800 uscf for more than 6 months.
