The README file mentions that the indicated strength ratings were determined on a certain reference machine. Apparently they are not adjusted on the user's machine based on the processor speed using the logarithmic formula, as past Chessmasters, at least 8000, did. Any ideas about how fast that reference machine processor speed was?

All that I know is that playing CM10k on my 1800 Athlon is MUCH easier that the same player on my 2.8 ghz laptop.

I know that CM9000 used the same algorithm as CM8000, although the reference machine was changed. The base machine was always the minimum spec machine for that version. CM8000's was a P2-233 and CM9000 was a P2-450. I don't know what the base for CMX000 was. jm
