But this is true when comparing engines where one is largely chess knowledge based, and the other is largely number of nodes based. (Rules are better than being blind. Knowing the truth by seeing it, is better than just having a rule.) At different times lengths you will get different results. Rybka should regain strength at longer times when Rybka gets better depth. Interestingly enough, this is probably why Rybka does so much better on multi-cpu machines. It is easier for Rybka to get to the next ply compared to other machines. Which gives it a much better overall strength improvement.
