In my copy of Hiarcs 8, when I go into "engine parameters" and change things, the next time I fire up Hiarcs those changes are no longer there, even when I click "save" in engine parameters. Is there something else I have to do or is this another thing the program just doesn't seem to remember after you quit, like the time left on the clocks? Next time you can load them. It's not a bug. Some people would wonder if they after some time fired up the engine and it played "strange" moves. HD

At the same place, in the parameter box, there's a Load button. So you have to go to engine parameters, but load instead of save or enter new ones. This is indeed useful with engines with far more complicated setting-options than Hiarcs. HD

When I click save nothing happens, other than the button clicks. And according to the manual, that's what's suppposed to happen. Documentation says it should load next time I load the game. It doesn't. > At the same place, in the parameter > box, there's a Load button. No there isn't. Only buttons are save, default, OK, restore and cancel. I can send you a screenshot if you want. And like you said, he should get an update to the latest GUI version. I haven't messed with the GUI version that came with H8 since I had "upgraded" with another program, and I don't recall not having 'Save' and 'Load' in the parameterbox! But I have heard of some people having buggy "GUI's" - infact it must be a problem with the dll - with something missing. So don't use Hiarcs in that GUI, start it in Fritz instead, and get an upgrade ! HD
