Is this not possible? In 'rated game' mode, it wants to always give me
white. Pressing space bar has no effect.

Fritz 9 is very advanced program specifically written for slim monitors so
that you can easily flip the monitor to play against White!

In the board window, select View/Flip Board (ctrl-f) to switch colors.

Thanks, I tried this, but all it did was put White on top. It still would
not move (even after pressing space bar). I am going to look at Chessbase
to see if it is known issue or if patches are available.
