Subject: Pro Deo in Winboard Help Needed

I have the chess engine Pro Deo 1.2 set up as a Winboard engine i
Winboard_X. I can't figure out which Pro Deo file I need to mak
changes to, to change the engine personalities and hash table size.
The only file I can see that might be the correct one to alter is th
prodeo.cpevar file, but when I make changes to that file the entries i
the param.txt file do not change to reflect the changes I made in th
prodeo.cpevar file. So I can't get a verification that the changes
made took effect.
My understanding is that the param.txt file entries will change whe
the engine parameters are changed and the engine is started through
GUI.
The wb2uci.eng file I believe is for using Pro Deo as a UCI engine so
wouldn't think I would need to mess with that file to run Pro Deo as
Winboard engine. But I did try to make the changes in that file too.
Can anyone help me out with this

I went ahead and set up Pro Deo as a UCI engine in Winboard_X and I ca
change the personalities and hash table size without much complication.
It would be nice to know how to do that while using Pro Deo as
Winboard engine in Winboard_X but I'll forget about it

I decided to take another look at Pro Deo as a winboard engine in th
Winboard GUI.
This is the entry for Pro Deo I have in the winboard ini file:
"Pro Deo 1.2" /fd="C:\Program Files\ProDeo12" /fcp="prodeo.exe w4"
I'm o.k. with being able to change the hash table size now, as can b
seen by the w4 entry.
Is it possible to change the personalities for Pro Deo as a winboar
engine in Winboard? Being able to set the 'Playing style' an
'Strength' would also be nice. I am not interested in setting variabl
personalities, just a fixed personality

You need to make a parameter adjustment to the pro.cx9210 file. When that's
done you'll see a change in the daisy.cp649 commensurate with the hal.ww2001
and the wb2uci.eng will be adjusted accordingly.
