Subject: Sam Sloan censured again for posting a porn link
With the expiration of our five day voting period for votes by email,
the following motion by Joel Channing has been approved by the USCF
Executive Board by a vote of 5-0, with Sloan abstaining:

Based on the outrageous and unconscionable post to the USCF Forum by
Sam Sloan on Tuesday ch 6, 2007, in which he ridiculed an
organization which has for many years been an important USCF sponsor,
and which post contained a link to a pornographic website, the Board
of Directors of the United States Chess Federation hereby declares
that we find that Mr. Sloan's action is unthinkable and inexcusable
for a director of this organization and we hereby declare vehemently
that we find his action deplorable and we censure Mr. Sloan and we
publicly disavow disassociate ourselves individually, and this
organization collectively, of from any of his actions in this matter.

The danger of course is that by mentioning that what is involved here
is the Seattle Chess Foundation website I risk getting censured again.
They of course can not reveal what the real issue is for the same
reason.

Bill Goichberg did not post my response to this one-sided motion which
I feel is improper as the members are entitled to hear my side of the
story. Here is what I wrote:

I would like to point out that several people have commented on the
Seattle Chess Foundation website and have provided links to that site,
including especially Rusty Miller of Seattle and more recently Louis
Blair.

I do not see how you think that it will preserve a good relationship
with AF4C by pointing out that their predecessor website contains
pornography.

What should have been done is AF4C should have brought a court action
to remove pornography from their website. There have been many court
cases about this. I cannot imagine why the Seattle Chess Foundation a/
k/a the American Foundation for Chess has been so lax as to neglect
this.

I think that you are going down a path that will make your reputations
even worse than it already is.

My posting was of course not obscene. The Fake Sam Sloan posts
obscenities every day, but you do not seem to be concerned about that.

Gee, now what about when they DON'T disavow stuff?
