Subject: new crafty versions available?
|
Version 20.1 was released in October 2005. Just now I found (all dated June 1st) versions 20.2 through 20.11 on Dr. Hyatt's FTP site. Would anyone have any info on why so many versions would be released at one time?

Files uploaded via FTP usually acquire the date and time that they were uploaded, regardless of their original timestamps. Additionally, I'm pretty sure Hyatt assigns a new version number to each build, which is why, much like 2.6 Linux kernels, you don't necessarily want to use every new version of Crafty as soon as it comes out. :) Such as 18.11 and 18.15 having both been quite well-used, while you don't really hear from 18.12, 18.13, 18.14 ...
