I have tried to put just the move list in a text file and name it
xxx.pgn

When I try to load the file in Chessmaster it will open the file, but
it has a games in file list and it is empty.

I get index out of range.

Suggestions?

Thanks

Answer my own question. I found out you have to change the way
Chessmaster displays the notation. (You would think it could read a
game without this)

Anyway, it works like a charm now.

Thanks everyone

It's not PGN so there's no reason to expect that to work. Winboard
will, as I recall, import this notation and then allow you to save it
as PGN.

I have Fritz 6 and I cut & paste those Yahoo! games straight into it,
right off the bean, no adsiticious problems.
Is Fritz 6 available for free nowadays?

The reason I want to paste the games into Chessmaster is so I can play
back to a position and ask Chessmaster for advice.

I would have liked to have been st enough to hang on to at least
one of those passed pawns.
