Subject: Damiano's defense

For those interested in reading about the refutation of Damiano's
defense, here is a link to Tim McGrew's "The Gambit Cartel" at
chesscafe.com:

http://www.chesscafe.com/text/mcgrew11.pdf

Sloan's game vs. Thaler (rated 1985 at the time, now rated 2094) is
given.

The game went 1 e4 e5 2 Nf3 f6 3 Nxe5 fxe5 4 Qh5 Ke7 5 Qxe5 Kf7 6 Bc4
d5 7 Bxd5 Kg6 and here, every self-respecting player should consider
the game won for white (it is). However, people like me don't go
through the trouble of actually looking at the "theory" behind it. Tim
McGrew recommends you put this position vs. your favorite computer
program (closing all the analysis windows) and see what happens. If you
don't know what follows, then you're likely to lose because you're down
in material.

After you do that, visit the link for the refutation.

In any case, Sloan won the above mentioned game.
