You clearly have a fine grasp of how things
work (or rather, don't work) in our government.

Mr. Greenspan's housing bubble could have
been minimized by, say, trading into an
opposite-colored-Bishops ending, but noooo!
Instead, they keep flipping interest rates
wildly, up and down, up and down-- like a
roller coaster. Now they have Mr. Bernanke
trained to do it, too.

Mr. Clinton pardoned a whole slew of his
criminal supporters at the end of his term,
and I expect no better from you-know-who
(that guy whose best defense, when it is
pointed out that he is even less popular than
Al Capone was, says: yeah, but I'm still six
rating points ahead of Congress!")

> And the work will keep him to busy to work on
> GetClubChess.

This is all part and parcel of president
Bush's ingenious plan to keep unemploy-
ment down to a reasonable number (like
say, 10-20% not counting those who
can't ever seem to get a job). Sanny is
part of the high-tech influx from India.

-------------------------------------------------------

Around two years ago (maybe less), I
started reading about how this was all
going to happen, in some newsletters
penned by Martin Weiss & Co. *They*
didn't seem to believe it though, for they
kept recommending buying stocks in
spite of predictions of a financial system
collapse. For a while, it was like the
story of "the boy who cried wolf!" or even
Chicken Little, but then, finally, it began.

Looking back, I couldda made a mint
just betting that big banks like Citicorp
and Wachovia would crumble. Of
course looking back, I would not have
boarded the Lusitania, or the Titanic or
the USS Indianapolis (boy was that a
bear, as those white-tips are tougher
than Rocky Balboa, 'till you wrestle
'em out of the water with a flying head-
scissors).

We all know what's going to happen
next: inflation and currency-devaluation
to compensate for our reckless over-
spending, laziness and over-indulgences.
That's the bad news. The good news is
that all of us who dreamed of one day
becoming millionaires will now get our
chance; a million bucks won't buy very
much by then, but it's the principle that
counts.

Nonsense, Sanny is actually going to be appointed tot he USCF EB to
fill Joel Channing's vacated spot! He won't have time to fix the
problems of the country as he fixes the problems of the USCF.

Well, then, I stand corrected. At least,we won't have to worry about
the security of the log files and Apache and he can give Nolan some
direction.

As Mr. Sloan is rather busy right now,
let me save him some trouble by
pointing out the following problems with
your suit:

1. You are filing in the wrong jurisdiction;

2. The state of Idaho has jurisdiction
over *potatoes*, not over chess;

3. The proper authority to handle such
a matter would be either the FIDE, or
perhaps the same authorities who
presided over the Neuremberg trials;

4. As heinous as the crimes may seem,
suing Sanny will likely net you only a few
drachma, and when the courts order him
to fix those bugs, he will of course be no
more able to comply than a zebra that is
"ordered" to change its stripes.

This succession of fraudulent claims demands correction. There is no
choice but to file suit in the Southern District of Idaho, asking the
court to compell GetClub to follow the rules of chess and observe the
time controls.

Yeah... but the ratings gap is getting pretty
wide, and as a result, I gain very little for a
win against the lower levels (despite the four
hours).

Yes; it is just poor logic.

Consider a position (on a very large chess
board) where Black has 100 pawns, and
gives them all away to "gain half points"
and cause the opponent to "lose half
points"; White now has the 100 pawns, and
the score has not changed one iota. Logic
should tell you that if you think a doubled
pawn is worth a half point, then in this case
White ought to have *gained 50 points*
from all those trades.

I don't know how you handle the math in
your program, but you can't penalize Black
a half-point for a doubled pawn, and count
the liquidation of such a pawn as a half-
point gain, AND penalize White for gaining
a doubled pawn. White should not ever
be penalized for *gaining* material in the
exchange.

> As I give a loss of half point for double Pawns. So GetClub gave its

That's just plain wrong. When White wins
a pawn that happens to be doubled, his
net gain is less-- but he still *gains*.

After looking at time taken I find it was Normal Level. I feel in the
Applet you Chose Normal Level instead of Master Level. A few moves
were made in 90 seconds. Master level always take more than 300 sec /
move.

I recommend never play with Master Level as it will take 2-3 days to
complete that game.. Play again with Normal and finish your game in
just 4 hours.

This Opening has been Removed as Black lost half point due to double
pawns.

"f4" was played as Black had double pawns it had a loss of half point.
When White took the f4 pawn Black lost only half point. But Black
gained half point as now White pawns are Doubled.

Is this wrong thing?

As I give a loss of half point for double Pawns. So GetClub gave its
pawn It actually lost only half point but since White also get doubled
pawn It gives a loss of "0 points".

I just finished a game against the Master
level, and let me tell you, there ain't no
"masters" I know of that play that weak!
(In fact, it now says Normal level, but I did
click on Master level, because there is no
way for me to get anywhere against low-
rated duffers like Normal, Easy, etc.)

Okay, here are the first few moves-- see
if you can spot the problem:

1. d4 f5

2. Bg5 Nf6

This is not considered to be good, as the
doubled pawns will leave White with a
mysterious "positional advantage".

3. Bxf6 exf6

4. e3 f4??

Now, look carefully-- can you see there is
a problem here?

5. exf4 ...and of course 1-0... it's just a
matter of technique from here.

My recommendation? Call Orkin-- the
professional bug exterminators. Then call
their competition, and also the fire
department and the Men in Black. Then
call Ghostbusters and ask for Bill Murray.

Yes I saw last 4-5 days the game became too bad and it was playing
worse. Those bugs has been removed, Now it will play as good as its
good days.

Play a quick game with Beginner Level and see how good it is playing.

Last 5 days game went in wrong direction. So those bugs has been
removed. Now it plays much stronger.

Actually whenever a improvement is done a few bugs crept in. They are
found after few players have played the games. Only when a bug appear
we can correct it. They keep hiding and pop up any time. Once they pop
up its easy to correct them.

Yes I think your gameplay too has improved a lot. Despite improvements
you keep winning. This timer it would be a lot hard.

I am experiencing the opposite effect: new bugs
crawl in each time I compete, and I seem to get
weaker and weaker as time goes by.

Much harder, eh? Where have I heard that
one before... .

A bug has been removed, again? Just how
many of these "bugs" are there, altogether--
four or five million? You need a bug that eats
other bugs-- like say, a preying mantis or a
spider. Make that an army of spiders.

That sounds familiar. I think I have heard
this claim at least a hundred times, and
each time more of the mysterious "bugs"
appear, to explain my multitude of wins--
all of which are actually the result of my
brilliant play.

Not long ago, I actually lost a game to
GetClub after struggling to entrap the
program's Queen (and nearly succeeding).
I missed a clever in-between move, and
its deadly follow-up Queen sacrifice. It
seems I might have been able to trap the
Queen if I had paid closer attention to the
details, especially seeing *all* the tactics.
Instead, I got back-rank mated like a
complete patzer.
