There is not just a single game-- I would not
even mention such a problem if it happened
only once. This opening has occurred many
times in my games, and it always plays the
wrong follow-up, and I virtually always win.

Yes, I still play the Beginner level, as Zeb
is right on my heels and I cannot afford to
risk drawing a 400-rated level (scored as a
loss and rated as a loss, to boot).

Anyhow, the real weakness is in the
endgame; any idea why the program still
moves into check? If there is any kind of
position scoring, just increase the piece-
value of the King high enough so that it
trumps all other considerations combined.
For instance:

pawn = 1

Knight = 3

Bishop = 3

Rook = 5

Queen = 9

King = 999

I could not see the recorded game, may be the game is not yet
complete. Finsh it and let me see what happened.

Are you still playing with Beginner Level?

Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

If the game plays OK I will not change it any more. Have you see that
in some moves it plays in 0 seconds as it has thought about the move
while you were making the move?

It now thinks in opponents move also and for 1/ 4 moves it plays in
"0" seconds saving your time.

If for some move you take 1-2 min with Beginner Level, Then may be it
plays a move with Easy Level. As it increases the thinking level if
opponent is aking longer to move.

I seem to have better results in the Queen
pawn games, and one of the problems I have
noticed is that the program is playing the
Benko Gambit poorly, which hands me a
pawn essentially for free.

1. d4 Nf6

2. c4 c5

3. d5 b5

4. cb a6

5. ba *Bxa6*

Instead of ...Bxa6, the program is giving
me an easy time of it with strange moves
which nullify the whole point of the pawn
gambit.

Once this error is fixed, I will then reveal
my secret refutation of the entire gambit,
for the first time.
In essence, I trick Black into thinking
his Rooks and Queen are active on the
Queen-side, then launch an unstoppable
attack with my bare King on the other,
finishing with a King-sac' on h7.

I can't really say what has changed, or if
the program is somewhat stronger today
than it was yesterday, and so forth. All I
know is that /at one point/ it was tough as
nails in the middle-game, but then it went
back to having serious problems and -- it
goes without saying -- that's when the
chronic complainers crawled out from
underneath their rocks to post their most
recent "brilliancies" here and ridicule the
program yet again.

You know when it's playing well by the
fact that such people just go silent; that
means they are in hiding, under their
rocks, waiting for more "improvements".
LOL

Of course, there are periods where few
people are playing at GetClub, as well.

There was one improvement done this week but Help bot thinks it is
playing badly, So that improvement was removed.

Help Bot, Play a few games and tell me are you finding it as strong as
it was earlier?

Now it will think in Opponents time also So if you think longer for a
move It will play much stronger reply and play in 0 seconds. Just like
Opening moves.

Yes there was a Change done. I think that Change should not be done.
That Change was done 5 days back, Do you feel last 5 days the GetClub
Chess played badly than It used to earlier?

If yes I will use the Older version Style?

Now, GetClub will think on Opponents time. So if you wait longer then
GetClub will think on your time and play move in just 1 second.

Incase you wait for 1-2 min for a move It will switch its thinking to
easy Level. So now for a few moves it will play much faster.

I seriously doubt that the "battle" between
myself and Zeb can be compared to this
exciting stuff. The real story is that every
time I lost or drew, my rating at GetClub
took a nasty hit, and this happened most
often around the time I breeched the 1400
k.

My new strategy is to a) play only against
the top-rated level, Beginner, and b) stop
hanging so many pieces! But it is still very
tough, as now I gain only two points for a
win, while I lose tons and tons of points for
a loss or a draw (which is rated and tallied
as a loss).

I don't know what has changed, but it
appears that certain "improvements" have
disappeared, and the program is not quite
as strong as it once was. Also, I have had
a problem seeing the board due to a nasty
eye infection in December-January; today
is the first day I have been able to keep my
formerly-infected eye open most of the time,
and not rely upon my "bad" eye to see! If
it weren't for this, I could fail my eye test
the next time I have to renew my driver's
license-- yow! "BLIND BOT *WALKS* TO
CHESS TOURNEYS!" Read all about it!

Helpbot is a fighting Champion , now they need to go another year for
the third fight of this trilogy .....

I was watching the legends of boxing the other night..

Greg Hougan vs The Tasmanian Devil , Vinny Panzanza ..

Greg was the champ and in his first title defence vs Vinny ...
It was a I5 round war , Greg broke Vinny's nose but the devil fought
hard and won Gregs title ...
The next fight Vinny was champ and Greg was the hunter , this was
another I5 round war and Greg broke Vinny's nose in the 6th round , the
the tasmanian devil fought with the heart of a true champion and went
down fighting , losing his title in another I5 round war ...
The third fight was a none title fight because they were not
champions but Vinny changed his style and won a I0 round boring fight ..

Now we need to see the third year war between these tow , bot vs Zeb....

the first two fights Vinny lost a lot of blood ..

the third fight Vinny was cut open again but not as bad as the first two
fights....

Greg punished Vinny's face in all three fghts...

1 year Back Help Bot was at Top position but Zebediah beat his score
and for one year the Top position was taken by Zebediah. After one
year HELP BOT managed to take back the crown he lost to Zebediah.

Help Bot has again prooved he is the Top player at GetClub by beating
Zebediah's score !!!
