I don't discuss confidential membership information such as birthdates.

However, every candidate had more than enough signatures from voting
members. I don't specifically recall any signers having been invalidated
because of age.

George Rankoth Sloan is Sam's son, who had to be about 15 when he
nominated
his father. Is this legal?

Johnny,
finding anything on the USCF site requires much patience and a good
deal of luck! :-)

It probably was. But if it isn't "secret" information then the members
have a right to know who nominated everyone. I don't think it's that
big a deal. WHen I ran for office there were a lot of folks that
signed my petition just so I would go away. LOL

Then I would suggest that you limit your posting of campaign issues to
the USCF forum only. There are a great many people who do not wish to
listen to anything you have to say Sam. If you want to engage a
broader audience.. then post here. If you want to simply discuss
internal USCF issues amoung those USCF members who are active, then
post in the USCF forum. Don't be disingenous<sp >

And it's really hard to do if people continue to cite his posts. My
newsreader filters every post by Sam Sloan, real or fake, but I still end
up seeing many of them because people quote him (them).

None of this crap involving the American chess association and scene should
be posted outside of rec.games.chess.politics anyway, but I guess that is a
hopeless request.

Mr. Innes is not a member of the USCF, nor is Rob Mitchell.

Both Mr. Innes and Mr. Mitchell are hostile to the USCF and have
stated that they would like for it to go out of business so that they
can start a new organization.

I will tend to address questions asked by members, not by non-members.

Everyone eligible candidate should have the right to be judged in an
election. I have checked the names above and they are all current
members. I would hope that Sam and the other board candidates might
respond to the questions posed by Mr. Innes so their positions may be
fairly judged by the electorate.

The nominating lists of which other candidates are being published in
the newsgroups?

Rob, don't you think distribution of this list was intended to
intimidate? Don't you consider this a campaign dirty trick, an
unethical interference in the electoral process by some as yet
undocumented insider?

The USCF IDs of the signers of all the nominating petitions have been
available at the USCF website on the 2007 EB Election page for over a month.

Potential candidates were told in the Call for Nominations that
this information would be made public and that they should include
that notification on their nominating petitions.

In every state or local election that I know of, nominating petitions
are considered a matter of public record. (If you don't believe me,
call the Secretary of State in your state or your county or state
election commissioner.)

It's also fairly clear that nominating petitions would be covered under
the Illinois laws regarding member access to 'corporate records'.

Not disagreeing with this, nor did I claim the spewing the list on the
newsgroup was *illegal*. However, it's a big step from having this
information available for inspection by the public, and actually
publishing it on Usenet.

>It's also fairly clear that nominating petitions would be covered under

OK, so a member, not necessarily an insider, could view the list and
then publish it. So my comment about "insider" may have been
unwarranted.

I believe you. However, I just spent 10 minutes over there trying to
find such a page.

Any idea how to navigate to that page from the front page?

Is this information supposed to be findable?

I have found an announcement about the 2006 special election, but
nothing about the 2007 election.

Um, look in column 3, do you see the item named:

2007 USCF Executive
Board Election Update

Alternatively, look under About the USCF - > Governance -> Elections
- > 2007 Executive Board Election

>Is this information supposed to be findable?

Only to people who can read, I guess.

Larry, you're getting old and obstinate.
Open your eys. Sam always had that
rotten smell about him but he used to
move around fast enough to avoid the
full association. These days one cannot
help the revulsion.

Larry, you used to champion good causes.
Why have you switched to someone who
is now teaming up with Schultz?!! Sam
was forgiven his stinky transgressions
in the past because he was one of those
who had reported on Schultz and other
(Denker?) USCF ugly deeds at FIDE. Now
they, Sam Sloan and Schultz, are the two
garbage pals.

Best regards,

Signing my election petition or the election petition of any other
candidate does not mean that the signer endorses me or will vote for
me.

It merely means that the signer feels that I should be allowed to run.

Actually, I had 73 signers of my election petitions. Whomever made
this list must have stopped as soon as the required number of 30 had
clearly been reached.

You still have not answered the question of where you got this list.
