I received some shocking information about Sam Sloan! This is by no
means a spoof.
NYC records show that Sam Sloan was incarcerated from 1/6/2006 to
1/11/2006 in an ASYLUM FOR THE INSANE. Ironic, isn't it, that Sam
Sloan dares to accuse cus Roberts of insanity, when cus has
never spent a minute in a crazyhouse and is perfectly sane?
That is not the shocking part of the news, though.
The shocking part is that Sam Sloan was RELEASED from the nuthouse
after observation, free to walk the streets. I confirmed this by
phoning 212 349 6006.
The asshole who signed Sam's release docket has a lot to answer for.
He has no federal immunity but is on the state payroll. Is there any
way he can be sued for releasing Sam? I've found his name, if it
helps, but he won't answer his extension.

Sorry, I meant to ask how many messages from are meant to be taken
seriously. From his new escalation, I presume none of them, which
makes him a bit of a waste of space but fortunately harmless. I still
don't understand these as Sloan parodies. Sloan writes coherently even
in those cases when he misses his target, while the cus W Roberts
posts could not strike anyone viewing them for the first time as
remotely plausible. I can't accept them as Sloan parodies, but as long
as they are pure humor I appreciate them for their own bizarreness.

Quite right. Personal medical records are very distasteful. How odd it
is that Sloan was the first to make public the medical records of a
USCF employee?
Taking your suggestion; here is what Wikipedia says:
"In United States criminal law, insanity may serve as an affirmative
defense to criminal acts and thus does not need to negate an element
of the prosecution's case such as general or specific intent.[4] The
states differ somewhat in their definition of insanity but most follow
the guidelines of the Model Penal Code. All jurisdictions require a
sanity evaluation to address the question first of whether or not the

second question is whether the mental illness interfered with the

Back in the mid-1980s I had two clients, both delusional, who went
through initial 730 screenings. The basic extent of determining
competency to stand trial was that they understood what the prosecutor
was trying to do and what the function of the jury was. Easy for even a
psychotic to answer under most circumstances. Trying to prepare for
trial with someone who claims he is the world's greatest lay Catholic
with a red phone hot line to the Pope is not easy. And why did he walk
up to that woman in Bryant Park at lunch time and, unprovoked, hit her
in the side of the head with an empty soda can? Because, "She was a
social climbing Jewess who I could smell from three blocks away." But
he was OK to stand trial. :-)

ordered HELD in a facility for a 730 evaluation. Typically, a 730
eval consists of psychiatric interviews of the principles in a custody
case, and sometimes will include home visits to evaluate a child's
environment. That is all a 730 is, though it is often traumatic for
the family involved. If Sloan was admitted to a facility against his
will by a judge then it is very doubtful this had anything to do with
a 730 eval being ordered UNLESS the interviewer observed that Sloan
was a danger to himself or others.

On the other hand, I dislike even more people who negatively speculate ad
hominem on people with names and with public records, even though Sloan
sometimes does this himself.
That doesn't make Sloan right, and by exactly the same measure, anyone else
either.
It is no shame to undergo psychiatric evaluation, especially as an enforced
and pro-forma adjunct procedure to legal affairs. It is shameful to
criticize those with names when you can't own your own.

IIRC, Mr. Sloan was ordered held for a 730 psychiatric evaluation which
determined he was no more neurotic than any other person living in NYC.
The circumstances of his being ordered held were highly questionable.
Had Mr. Sloan filed a complaint with the judicial commission the judge
might well have been sanctioned. That Mr. Sloan did not file such a
complaint is not unusual in that his case involved a custody matter
requiring that he weigh the value of filing the complaint against the
damage it might do to his case.

Who cares? While I certainly do not think his current project of
publishing bridge books is well-considered, and the manner in which he
promotes them somewhat questionable, your attack is childish and perverse.
Assuming you are correct on your facts, and that you have identified the
right Sam Sloan, what of it? Perhaps if a few more supposedly sane
people spent some time in a such an institution the world would be much
better off. Perhaps we should start with very long terms for cowards
posting personal attacks while hiding behind fake names like "The Fourth
Cosmic Prince Of The Unknown Factor".
