6 Months back many people used to beat the Master Level. Now after the game improvement everyone is playing with Beginner Level. No one it strong enough to challenge Master Level. Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html People who have beaten Master Level previously are 1. Help Bot 2. Taylor Kingston 3. Bob 4. Zebediah 5. Stinky Garlnoot 6. Bonsai 7. Fritz8 8. Chess_Freak 9. chrisf 10. bjoern 11 richerby 12. Bobby Pfuscher 13. likesforests 14. davidr 15. PatM Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html Is there any one of the above who can still beat the Master Level? Before playing with Master Level first play with Beginner Level incase you win the game then only proceed to Master Level. As Master Level will take 5-10 min/Move and the game will finish in 2-3 days. Last two days everyone is playing with only Beginner Level. No one is playing with higher levels. Should I stop improving the Chess game Further as it is able to beat each one of you? Is there any contender strong enough to beat the Master Level? Or All players in the world Bow before the Master Level? GetClub game is made only for Human Players, But still for cruiosity I ask again can Fritz-8 beat Master Level? What do Taylor Kingston say. I remember Taylor Kingston said once to me: "Master Level will never be able to beat me." Can he say the same statement Today. Or he is afraid to face the Master Level? Can a GM beat Master Level? Should I further improve the GetClub chess or it is enough to beat all people in this rgcm. Bye Sanny Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html

The GetClub program *used to be* the way you describe, but now it is much tougher; you would know that if you bothered to do the research; just playing the fastest levels tells the tale. In the old days, it was nearly impossible to lose, but now, even though there are some glaring weaknesses, the program is better than most humans at tactics. Are tactics enough to make for a decent game of chess, you might ask? As some famous bank robber is reputed to have said when asked why he robbed banks, "because *that's* where the money is!" Yes, tactics are where the game is most often decided. > while paying a per-game fee > when they could just download Crafty or > any number of other programs for free that > play stroner then GC ever will, have a far > better interface, etc..... or surf on over to > FICS (www.freechess.org) which offers a > slew of better interfaces as well as both > Human-Human and Human-Computer > games at no charge) Hey, those commercial chess programs will beat the tar out of most humans, so they need to be dumbed-down. For years, I've seen complaints about how they aren't dumbed-down properly, etc. And nobody I know of has paid anything. You get 30 games for free, and if you play decent chess you will invariably earn more "free" games each month. So the question is, do you want to play other humans, or would you like a shot at "surviving" against a beatable computer with almost no openings book? There is a huge difference in style of play here, so maybe you should try both before leaping to any conclusions. Rob the gas stations and the convenience stores, then try a bank. Er, I mean then try GetClub, and then come back and tell everyone that as a grandmaster, you find it to be no challenge whatever. That way, all the other GMs reading here will be forewarned... . ; >D -- help bot

The real question would be .... Is there anyone in the world willing to waste their time with a program that takes 2-3 days to play an adequate (I am being generous) game of chess while paying a per-game fee when they could just download Crafty or any number of other programs for free that play stroner then GC ever will, have a far better interface, etc..... or surf on over to FICS (www.freechess.org) which offers a slew of better interfaces as well as both Human-Human and Human-Computer games at no charge)

I just played the Easy level, and in a complex middle game I moved a piece en prise (where it can simply be captured for free). Told you I am still half-blind! But even half-blind, I am beating the Beginner level rather consistently-- hahahah! -- help bot

Game with Beginner can be completed in 10-15 minute. With recent improvements Beginner Level you can win 6 / 10 Games. Game with Easy can be completed in 40-60 minute. Easy Level you can win 4 / 10 Games. Game with Normal can be completed in 3-4 hours. Normal Level you can win 2 / 10 Games. Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html Game with Master can be completed in 12-20 hours. Master Level you can win 1 / 10 Games. Game with Advance can be completed in 3-4 days. Advance Level you maywin 1 / 20 Games. So best Option you should have is to play with Normal Level Game with Normal can be completed in 3-4 hours. Normal Level you can win 2 / 10 Games. So you will win 1 out of 5 games with Normal Level. Play Chess at: http://www.GetClub.com/Chess.html Advance & Master are sure LOST GAMES. only 1/10 or 1/20 chances of your winning them. > =A0 Hey-- I tried to warn you about Taylor > Kingston, and his "protectionist" policy. =A0:>D > Yes these days he is very HOT. I think the Advance level is the strongest, then Master, and so on down the line. But going by their ratings, it is better to play the Beginner level and win, than to play the Advance level and (one day) lose or draw. If I could be certain of a normal finish, I would have played the Advance level more often. But with my wireless connection and a lot of disconnects when the program was making its move, which required restarting the game from the previous position and waiting hours to get back to another likely disconnect, it simply wasn't worth it to me. I did play quite a few games like that when Rob "da-robber" Mitchell invited me to play at ChessWorld. Amazingly, not one of my opponents made use of a chess computer to crush me, and I ended up with a good score. Those games were agonizingly slow, at something like three days per move. Hey-- I tried to warn you about Taylor Kingston, and his "protectionist" policy. : >D -- help bot

Now the things have changed. I never want to waste any of your time. I referred you because you were the first player who used to play with Master Level. I remember only you had the patience to wait 2 hours for each move. But today Master level plays in 5-10 min/Move. You played 50 Games taking 1-2 hour per move. That time it was very weak. But now the things have changed. Earlier you had so much time What happened that you are so busy these days. Have you left Chess. Its good if you are working in some other area and do not want to devote much of your time in Chess. Try when you are free on your week ends and you will be surprised to see how good it plays. If not ask Help Bot he is having difficulty in beating Beginner Level also. May be Help Bot is very weak player than you. But someone told his Rating is 2000+ Only play when you have enough time. Sanny, I am still half-blind due to an eye infection and this is why I don't feel up to tackling any of the higher levels. But rest assured that the player listed above as "Fritz8" can still easily defeat your program on any level, if you can find someone who is willing to be the operator (I don't have version 8, but I do have the free version, 5.32, which is far stronger than GetClub). The real reason people seem to be avoiding the top levels these days? It's probably because they can get a fairly decent game at the lower levels, so why suffer through all that waiting for the program to move? The reward for defeating the Master level is an even smaller rating-point gain, due to it being ridiculously beaten-down by Zebediah and his chess program. As far as I can tell, the top-rated level is the weakest one of all, so hey, why not play it and avoid the agony of waiting for the program to move? -- help bot
