Here is the recent loss Sloan suffered. Jerry Nash of the USCF
officiated the match. It was a single game, no time limit. Mitchell
drew white and began the game. Sloan defended with black.
At the end of the game Nash presented Mitchell with a cashiers check
in the amount of 10k.

Bad idea. Did you not see what happened
when those two Russians with the K-names
went at it, no time limit, no substitutions? It
was something akin to the movie "Rollerball",
starring James Caan.

Ten kroner, eh? Not very much, but then, it
was only a one-game match.

Ohmygawd! This reminds me of a recent
game I played at GetClub, where I had
Black and after 1. e4 e5, 2. Bc4 Nf6, the
confounded machine hit me with 3. d4!?!,
and I was forced to calculate actual
variations-- right in the opening! That was
a close one, too. If I recall, we had
quite a tussle and ended up in a drawable
Rook ending, which I quite naturally won.

The trouble with this ruse is that nobody
would take the idea seriously-- unless it
were preceded by vicious attacks back
and forth between the two players, and I
think it goes without saying that SS
would be expected to give QN odds and
still win.

OK. I realize that this looks like a terrible game and I made many bad
moves, but I usually win games like this because my opponent gets
confused.

If I had just played 24. Rg2, I would have survived a bit longer and
might have eventually won the game.

The game posted by Rob Mitchell is by vastly weaker players. It looks
like a game that Sonny might have played.

Of the three above, the least likely (and least funny) is number
three.
