Polgar seeks to Change the Status of the USCF Within FIDE

Shocking news has arrived from Mexico City that during the final
stages of the 2007 World Chess Championship, held September 11-30,
2007, USCF Chairman Zsuzsa Susan Polgar approached FIDE Continental
President for the Americas Mr. Jorge VEGA and requested that the
Country Affiliation respecting the United States of America in FIDE be
shifted from the United States Chess Federation to the Susan Polgar
Foundation.

Ms. Polgar told Mr. Vega that the USCf is now in weak condition due to
internal conflicts and dissention and therefore this is the right time
to take away the authority of the USCF to send players to compete for
the World Chess Championship and to send teams to compete in the World
Chess Olympiad.

Under the Susan Polgar proposal, from now on Susan Polgar would decide
which players would represent the United States of America in FIDE
events and the USCF would lose its right to name a delegate to FIDE or
to name the USA Zone President. All these rights would devolve to the
Susan Polgar Foundation.

Precedent for this action was established in the 2000 FIDE Congress
where the FIDE Delegates voted to revoke the FIDE Status of the
Philippine Chess Federation and to give that authority to a newly
created entity headed by Bobby Ang. Bobby Ang has since stated that he
deeply regrets that action.

It seems doubtful that the FIDE Continental President for Americas Mr.
Jorge Vega had the authority do make the change that Polgar requested
but, nevertheless, Ms. Polgar made that request. Apparently, Mr. Vega
has considered this matter, in view of the fact that Susan Polgar is
now the Chairman of the USCF.

Oxymoron: using a reference to Sam Sloan in the
same sentence with the term "solid evidence".

A short time ago, Mr. Sloan flatly accused Louis
Blair of wrongdoing, then later appeared demanding
to know *if* LB had done what SS had *already*
accused him of doing. It reminds me of Larry Parr
demanding to know if Taylor Kingston posted under
various pseudonyms-- a demand which alternated
for a time with flat-out accusations in the same
vein. Some folks just can't think rationally.

The rumor doens't matter. Truthful or false, in this sitaution, FIDE
will have little comment, I suspect. This is very stressful,
for many heads of state. Susan Polgar doesn't matter. cus Roberts
doesn't matter. We are expected to get along
as chess players, and we aren't getting along.

We need to get back to our game, and I can't do that unless we attend
a peace conference!

This isn't over!

Here is her non-answer answer:

Phil Innes is talking up Susan and the FIDE Presidency. That's got
nothing to do with it.
James Bond? No. High stakes investment, YES.

There is some spying, becasue we are dealing with ove 100 million
dollars. There could be an IPO.

Polgar and Truong have been asked about this and thus far have
remained silent.

One would imagine that if this were not true, they would deny it
immediately.

Randy Hough, a board member, wrote me yesterday:

"Sam, I heard your "shocking news" several months ago. Unless you now
have a source willing to be quoted (Mr. Vega, perhaps?), it's an old,
unsupported rumor.

Randy"

However, I agree with the basic point. The reason I did not report
this back in October when I first heard it was the lack of a person
directly involved who was willing to be quoted. That, however, is not
a valid reason to keep this a secret forever, especially since almost
every chess insider had heard about this incident before I sent this
email, and there has been no denial from Polgar, Truong or Jorge Vega.

EZoto,

This is nosense. Democracy says the USCF holds the FIDE seat for the
USA. You must support USCF Vice President Paul Truong. What you have
written is a lie. This is talk of HIGH TREASON. There will be no more
elections under this proposal. Susan aims to bankupt
the USCF to take the FIDE seat, and challenge Kirsan Ilyumzhinov for
the Presdiency of FIDE.

High treason? Challenge Kirsan for the presidency of fide? What is
this James Bond? This runaway imagination is ridiculous. And these
far fetched ideas are ludicrous. This is why no one takes sam sloan
or you seriously. Now your saying I am a supportor of Paul Troung.
What I am saying is that now Paul and Susan deserve a chance to do
what is best for USCF. Give them the chance they deserve like
everyone else was that was elected. Instead they are condemned
without even given a chance and accused of criminal acts, etc, etc.
Sound like sour grapes to me.

Yes, I agree.

But if it is false, we have here an especially egregious example of
malicious rumor-mongering even by Sam Sloan's dodgy standards.

Sam, this is not the sort of charge you should make in public without
solid evidence to back it up. Do you have it?

If this is true, the USCF should remove her from the board immediately.

This is a clear and convincing case of conflict, and as a board member
she should have priy loyalty to the USCF. If she cannot, she simply
cannot serve.

And with the obvious and demonstrated conflict, Paul Troung should
resign or be removed as well.

I don't care about her feelings. It doesn't even matter if she is
right. The act is wrong, and there is only one reasonable response.

Ray's new "Project 5000" is here:
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/project-5000

Don't rely on overexposed, mass-keted commercial seduction methods which
no longer work.

Thinking of taking a seduction "workshiop?" Read THIS:
http://www.dirtyscottsdale.com/?p=1187

Beware! VH-1's "The Pickup Artst" was FRAUDULENT. Six of the eight
contestants were actors, and they used PAID TARGETS in the club. The paid
targets got mad when VH-1 said "there are no actors in this club" and ruined
their prromised acting credit. What else has Mystery lied about?
