GM Vladimir Savon (1940-2005) has died in Kharkiv, Ukraine.

Vladimir Savon won the 1971 USSR Championship ahead of players
such as Bronstein, Geller, Karpov, Polugaevsky, Smyslov, Stein,
Taimanov, and Tal.
