Subject: understanding openings
I don't like very much openings books except "Starting out" by Everyman
chess. The Starting out books are the only I know which you could
understand an opening and the ideas behind them. Can you suggest me some
books similars to these?

Best way to learn Chess is by Playing them.

Opening is important but I think Middle game is more important.
Opening get memorized after you play 100s of games But Middle game is
what give you Win or Loss. If your Middle game is strong then you can
win even if the Opening is not good as you know what moves are better.

John Watson's books (one for e4 and one for d4) are very good.
