Subject: Ancient Chess Question.....
As Black, What's your response to:

1. e4 Nf6
2. Nc3 e5
3. d4 ?

I'm sure the best answer is 100's of
years old...

A scid analysis based on the 4000000 games database distributed by
chesslib.no is available here:

The line 3...exd4 is indeed the main line. The line 4.Nd5 has never been
played (at least it is not in this database)while shredder9 finds it
almost equal to 4.Qxd4. Curious...

I'm sure 3...exd4 is the main line, or was at one time.
