A tourney finished today in the Catalan town of Ciutat d'Aguilada. This
is Mcshane's best reult to date I think andf certainly for awhile. His
play tends to lack incisiveness as inidcated by his inactive opening
play but at this tourney that did not seem to be so much of a problem.
There were only four players in the double round-robin; he finished 1/2
a pt. ahead of the Ukranian Volokitin and then Belyavsky and then
Kortchnoi.

By the way, `ciudad' is Spanish for `city' so I assume that `ciutat' is
the same thing in Catalan.
