Subject: New game for beginners to look at
I just posted a game on my site that I played last night on FICS. I
made some pretty foolish errors, but I think it may be of help to other
beginning players to see what I did wrong. Check it out at:

Thanks,
Richard

(Just to let everyone know, my blog is there just for fun and to help
me improve my game. I don't try to sell you anything there)

Thanks! I just played (and lost) a game with it. I couldn't figure out
how to install and opening book, though.

Thanks,
Richard

Richard, Here is a link to a free download of an older version of Fritz
and the opening book and several other goodies. You can add newer
engines, it is a very strong tool even with this version. I am enjoying
your blog. I am also around 1200 level. http://copoechecs.free.fr/soft/

I just checked it out. It looks good. I will definitely be visiting.
I'm sure it will help me alot. For the time being, I'm not using
computer analysis on my games because at my level the mistakes are more
fundamental and pretty obvious when I can step back and look at the
game more objectively. I've never used Fritz. What kind of analysis
does it do?

Thanks,
Richard

It gives lines and moves that are better and should have been played.
Offcourse, you saw that I'm not giving just lines because it's boring and
the internet is full of that kind of "analysis". I try to explain my tought
process, my plans etc. I think this is easier to read because of
explanations and you don't have to go through bunch of confusing lines.

I don't intend to give sily tips as "10 opening principles" or so but in
every game there will be these tips implemented as the position call for it.
So, I'll discuss variety of thing that I'm familiar with.

PS thanx for words of praise, see you :)

That's exactly right. I'm rated 908 in standard games at FICS. As you
can see, I miss a lot in my games, but I'm getting better.

Thanks,
Richard

You inspired me so I started similar blog about chess improvement. But I'm
stronger then you (cca 1900) and I will import much more text when analysing
and use Fritz assistance. I'll inform you when I update. I hope it can help
you a lot.

See ya
