Hello!

Meanwhile I've found that thread by chance via google groups:

http://tinyurl.com/27nqq4

I think the problems were:
- The thread is not in r.g.c.analysis as I expected
- The title was changed to "shall gambit: busted!"
- The main header in google groups is "Mate in 131 moves" by Sam Sloan

Interestingly Quigley himself gave an external link (thomasstock - no
working 9 years later) to the thread only a few month after i
started...

Thanks again

Best regards
Feli

Hello!

That is the link leading me to that obscure thomasstock-page which i
given by Quigley as the source for the complete thread. He also refer
to the chesscafe-article given above but the original thread must b
more extensive.

Thanks for the answers!

Don't have the original thread but Gary Lane wrote an article in May 1998
at ChessCafe. See: http://www.chesscafe.com/text/kibitz24.pdf

Rats! Author was Tim Harding, not Gary Lane.
