A one-minute rating is not a rating, but a damn EKG.

After peaking at over 2000, I've been stuck in the mid-1700s again this
week, with some forays into the 1800-1900 territory.

This is still somewhat of an improvement, since I used to be stuck in the
1600s in valleys in the past, but it's nicer when the peak goes up instead
of the valley.

Perhaps what separates the top GMs is that the ones who succeed measure
their strength more by their valley than by their peak, and study until 2700
becomes their average rather than their peak.

He won't because he's scared.

And if he does he'll use his computer so what's the difference?

I think it would be good for Ray to join the RGC tournament. Come on
Ray, Matt is signed up to play!

Sure you do! If you didn't, you wouldn't be scared to play a rated
game.

I think Ty Webb summed it up best:

"Don't sell yourself short, Judge. You're a tremendous slouch."

If they did, you'd be over 1900 in this quarter alone.

Loser.

Here I try to be nice to Gordo for once, complimenting him on his post,
and he goes on the offensive.

Well, Gordo, since you can't and WON'T prove to anybody that you DON'T
suck, perhaps you should just have a nice tall glass of shut the fuck
up, hmm? You're all talk, buddy, and everybody and their mother knows
it. And I think you probably know it, too, Gordo. If you're man
enough to admit that you're scared to play a real game.

But you aren't, so I won't hold my breath.

You have a Merry Christmas now, Gordy!

They don't give rating points for posts.

Finally, a sensible post from Gordon Roy Parker. I didn't think I'd
live to see the day.

B-player analysis noted.

He did note that it was sensible that I said I sucked THIS week, and since
the rest of the post showed I don't suck at chess every week, we'd have to
construe that as his agreement with the sentiment.

Of course, he's just a pathetic B-player.
