Subject: Any P2P chess programs??
Are there any computer to computer chess programs out there? I know I can
"meet" a friend online and play against them on one of the free servers, but
how about connecting directly through each other's computers? Is there any
software or interfaces out that facilitate this?

If all you want is a small program to do that use:

AlphaChess 3

Very Small, nice looking and works direct IP-IP...

The "only" problem with the program is that when playing it allows some
illegal moves... like "to castle being in check", but for players that
knows the rules that will not be a problem...

Chessmaster 9000 lets two people connect via TCP/IP. One person creates
a session, and up to 7 other people (I think) can connect to that
session, as long as they know the IP address of the host.

CM 10th Edition only allows you to connect via LAN or on CM Live, so
that's why I don't suggest this newest version for the kind of
connection you want to make.
