Subject: Fritz 9 Chess database game to Textfile
I want to save an analyzed game from the database in Fritz 9 to a
textfile. However I cannot get the brackets, parentheses, and other
symbols like "Better is" symbol to show.

Can someone tell me how to do that?!!

Thanks much.

The special annotation signs are part of the font collection. Use the same
font in your word processor as in Fritz and they'll show up.

That's not quite true. If you save to PGN, Chessbase/Fritz will
render ``1.e4 +-'' as ``1.e4 $18'' (or perhaps $20). It doesn't
matter what font you're using: that will appear as eighteen dollars.

That's true if you save to PGN. A PGN-file is a text file alright, but not
all text files are PGN files. Fritz 9 can both export a game score as a non-
PGN plain text file and a plain text file according to PGN-specs.

Then simply paste to Notepad or Wordpad.

There might be other ways of doing it also, but that works fine.
