Topalov's manager has accused Kramnik of using Fritz 9 (see article on the chessbase web site). He has counted the number of moves that are the same as Fritz 9 in each of the games (typically over 85% after book). OK, but has anyone checked to see how many of Topalov's moves match moves recommended by Fritz9? If Topalov's ratio is significantly lower, there is reason for suspicion, but if not, all it shows is that Fritz 9 plays like a World champion... Henri

The point is, as I've read it, he doesn't accuse Kramnik of anything. He just makes compares the moves of Kramnik and Fritz9. This perhaps for legal reasons, but also because he must know himself, how silly a direct accusation would be. a. It's only 78%, not 100%, so what? b. Other engines often suggest other moves c. Topalov will probably also have high % from one or the other engine >He has counted the number of moves that are the > same as Fritz 9 in each of the games (typically over 85% after book). > > OK, but has anyone checked to see how many of Topalov's moves match > moves recommended by Fritz9? > > If Topalov's ratio is significantly lower, there is reason for > suspicion, but if not, all it shows is that Fritz 9 plays like a World > champion... > > Henri

Most chess players would call the evidence ludicrous. It seems like the shady Topalov/Danailov duo are willing to use any dirty tricks they can to win, not content at having already snatched one unearned point. http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3401 --- likesforests http://likesforests.blogspot.com/ Henri Arsenault wrote: > Topalov's manager has accused Kramnik of using Fritz 9 (see article on > the chessbase web site). However, there are unfortunately, but most likely, masses of people, who would give credits to Topalov for trying so, with all the money that's at stake. The first accusations of Toilet-visits maybe aren't even brought up to accuse Kramnik of engine-using, but more so check if Kramnik didn't go to the toilet so often just to break Topalov's concentration. That would also be considered unsportsmanlike, but it's a part of the battle, that is for the purpose of money/glory. > > http://www.chessbase.com/newsdetail.asp?newsid=3401 > > --- > likesforests > http://likesforests.blogspot.com/ > > Henri Arsenault wrote: >> Topalov's manager has accused Kramnik of using Fritz 9 (see article on >> the chessbase web site).
