Subject: Sam Sloan Banned for One Year from Posting to the USCF Issues Forum
I have just received the following notification that I have been
banned for one year from posting to the USCF Issues Forum.

This ban was voted months ago but was held up pending my suit against
the USCF. My complaint in Sloan vs. Truong, Polgar and the USCF had
specifically complained about my being repeatedly suspended from
posting during the election period, even though I was both a member of
the board and a candidate for re-election. My suit was dismissed on
August 28 and it is obvious that they decided to wait until the appeal
period had passed to implement the ban.

Please note what I was banned for. I was banned for revealing that the
USCF Finances were in bad shape and that there were discussions about
stopping the publication of the magazines. My postings were the first
to reveal these problems. They obviously wanted the general membership
not to know about this and banned me for that reason.

Here is the actual announcement:

tsawmiller wrote: "This announcement has been held for the last
several months pending a review by the ED and legal counsel. The ED
has now decided to allow the announcement so that the appeals process
may proceed. An appeal must be filed within 3 days to avoid enactment
of the sanction. If an appeal is filed within the specified 3 days,
poster will remain in the Moderation Queue until disposition of the
appeal. If an appeal is upheld, poster will remain in the Moderation
Queue as prescribed in the AUG.

That's so terrible.

I'd consider it an act of good faith if they revoked that.

I may be a student of obsession, but you are the master.

Who's carrying on an endless "conversation" with Kent and Moe?

You've learned well, grasshopper.

Noblesse oblige ...
