Does anyone know of a way to turn off the startup screens and sound on
CM9000?

In the install folder of Chessmaster 9000 (typically, C:\Program
Files\Ubi Soft\Chessmaster 9000) there is a file called cm.ini. Open
it in Notepad and change the line that says

IntroMovie=1

to

IntroMovie=0

and that should let you skip the starting movie and bring you directly
to the user logon screen.

Thanks, Tony. Works like a charm.
