Too bad because this is an excellent engine without the bugs of later versions ... <[email protected] > a écrit dans le message de news: [email protected] > Gilles Garrigues wrote: >> Rybka 1.1 free ?? > > Thanks. Correction: It's Rybka 1.0 that's free. >

Yes, those are good processors and I can confirm Rybka 2.1 runs fine on them. Here are rough statistics for commercial engines on a 32-bit 2CPU to help you decide: Rybka 2.1 Multi-processor ($72) is ELO 3004 Rybka 2.1 Single-processor ($41) is ELO 2972 Rybka 1.1 (free) is ELO 2970 Deep Shredder 10 ($100) is ELO 2923 Fritz 9 ($54) is ELO 2824 I upgraded from Crafty (ELO:2631) and SOS 5.1 (ELO:2651) to Rybka 2.1 MP (ELO:3004). For me, Rybka's extra strength really shines in the endgame. If you are looking for a simple 2-5 ply tactic, any engine should spot those.
